Check Your Online Visibility Score

Quick Answer

Your online visibility score is a single number from 0 to 100 that measures how easily customers can find your business across Google Business Profile and the map pack, review platforms, your website, business directories, and AI answer engines like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Answer sixteen questions below and you'll get your score, a category-by-category breakdown, and the specific fixes that would move it most — ranked by how many points each one is worth.

Most businesses are invisible in at least one place their customers are actively looking. This shows you which one — and what it is costing you.

Google Business Profile · 25 pts

The single biggest lever for local search. It decides whether you appear in the map pack.

Have you claimed and verified your Google Business Profile?
Is the profile fully filled out — categories, services, hours, service area, description?
How often do you post photos or updates to the profile?

Reviews & Reputation · 20 pts

Volume and recency drive both map-pack rank and whether AI engines recommend you.

Roughly how many Google reviews do you have?
When did you last receive a review?
Do you reply to reviews?

AI Search Presence · 20 pts

Whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews can find and cite you.

If you ask ChatGPT or Perplexity for the best business in your category and city, are you mentioned?
Does your site have structured data (schema markup) — LocalBusiness, FAQ, Service?
Does your site answer the questions customers actually ask, in plain language?

Website Foundation · 15 pts

Speed, mobile, and structure. A slow site loses customers you already paid to attract.

How quickly does your site load on a phone?
Is your site genuinely easy to use on mobile?
Can a visitor call or book you within one tap from any page?

Listings & Citations · 10 pts

Consistent name, address and phone across directories. Inconsistency erodes trust signals.

Is your name, address and phone identical across Google, Yelp, Bing and the major directories?
Are you listed in Bing Places?

Tracking & Attribution · 10 pts

Whether you can tell which marketing produced which customer.

Do you know which marketing channel produced your last ten customers?
Are inbound phone calls tracked back to the campaign or keyword that caused them?

Online Visibility Score FAQs

An online visibility score is a single number, from 0 to 100, summarising how easily customers can find your business across the places they actually search — Google Business Profile and the map pack, review platforms, your own website, business directories, and now AI answer engines like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. It is a diagnostic, not a ranking: it tells you which specific parts of your online presence are costing you customers.
Six weighted categories: Google Business Profile (25 points), Reviews and Reputation (20), AI Search Presence (20), Website Foundation (15), Listings and Citations (10), and Tracking and Attribution (10). Each question contributes a proportion of its category's points. The weighting is deliberate — Google Business Profile and reviews dominate local map-pack results, and AI search is weighted heavily because it is the fastest-moving surface and the one most businesses currently score zero on.
It is a structured self-assessment, and it is honest about that. It reflects what you know about your own setup, which is enough to identify the big gaps reliably. It is not a crawl of your website — we do not scan your site or check your listings from this page. If you want the verified version, we run a manual audit that checks your actual profile, listings, page speed, schema markup, and AI citations, and we will send you the findings whether or not you hire us.
Because it is where discovery is moving and where the gap between businesses is widest. Buyers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews for a recommendation rather than scrolling ten blue links, and being absent from those answers is invisible in a way traditional rank tracking will not show you. Most local businesses score zero here, which makes it the cheapest competitive advantage currently available.
Above 70 puts you ahead of most local competitors. Above 85 is genuinely strong. But the total matters less than the shape — a business scoring 65 with a strong Google Business Profile and no AI presence has a very different set of priorities than one scoring 65 with great content and an unclaimed profile. Read the category breakdown, not just the number.
The mechanical fixes — claiming and completing your Google Business Profile, adding schema markup, fixing directory inconsistencies, installing conversion tracking — can be done in a few weeks and typically produce the largest single jump. Review volume and AI citations compound more slowly, usually over three to six months. Most businesses see meaningful movement in the map pack within 90 days of fixing the foundations.
